Indie Game: The Movie Trailer

The trailer for Sundance darling Indie Game: The Movie has hit the internet and, man, does it look promising. Aside from having interesting subject matter, the documentary appears to be an intimate look into the lives of those that make sacrifices for the love of their art.

And yes, I said art.

The debate over whether video games are a form of art is on-going. There have been arguments from both sides and, frankly, it is disappointing that there are people who can’t see the art of the medium. Here’s to hoping that this little documentary will help give strong evidence that games ARE an art.

The film is only seeing a limited release in a handful of cities around the country. But, the film is garnering strong buzz and it would be good to spread the word on this film.

The games that the film appears to be centered on are Braid, Super Meat Boy, and the recently released Fez. I myself am a big fan of Super Meat Boy and found Braid to be absolutely beautiful. It will be nice to hear from the individuals behind these games and see their journeys.
