That’s Ult – Episode 011: The “D” Is Silent, N00bs!

Congratulations!  We all survived the Mayan Apocalypse.  It’s not like we stocked piled up on water and canned goods or anything.
With the tail end of the year usually being the last effort for major studios to squeeze in, what is arguably, their best films for “awards season,” December movies tend to turn out some of the best performances.  Though some films did suffer from pacing issues, delightfully enough, this past holiday releases haven’t been too disappointing.  There were some surprisingly interesting outcomes that occurred such as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey not even drawing large crowds at our local theater to Django Unchained causing a near fire hazard with its lines on Christmas Day.  This Is 40, Judd Apatow’s follow-up to his hit 2007 raunchy comedy Knocked Up, shows his progressive attempts to create the perfect dramady.  And finally, Les Misérables makes its Oscar grab with headliners Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway singing out their soliloquies.  See how well the December 2013’s film releases hold up in the Ultness crew’s eyes.
