Gameplay of ‘LEGO Marvel’s Avengers’ Released

For those of you who didn’t know, another LEGO video game is set to come out in early 2016. As the second installment of the LEGO Marvel franchise, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers will focus less on material from the comic books and more on material from Phases 1 and 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including both The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, along with Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: Winter Soldier.

While focusing on the material from the movies, over two hundred playable characters are a part of the game, including Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, Captain Falcon (Sam Wilson as Captain America), America Chavez, Lady Thor, and Young Avengers‘ Speed. Along with an array of characters with different powers to play, the game has a new feature: two-character team ups. The feature was originally thought up for the LEGO The Hobbit game, where two of the dwarves would team up to defeat larger opponents or break down large objects. In LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, not only will you get to team up with other characters, every two characters have their own unique team up abilities, with individual ones depending on which character initiates the attack, meaning almost 800 different attacks.

12 minutes of gameplay footage was released today, so check out the video below and see how you like it.

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers comes to stores January 26, 2016 for the 3DS, PC, PS3, PS4, WiiU, X360, and XO. Pretty much every console under the sun. Except the Vita.
