The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Features Trailer

A new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD recently dropped, showing some of the features that have been added to this updated version of 2006s The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

In addition to the game being HD and playable on the Wii U, we get the ability to play as Midna and the Wolf at will. While this is an interesting addition to the game, it isn’t clear whether or not this is available to players who have finished the game or if this is available from the get-go. Also, not sure if this is as minor as a skin change or if there is another angle to the story to be experienced. Personally, I’d guess the former, but being Nintendo, you never really know.

They’ve added to ability to have a “sense” in the game; I can only assume this is to point players toward their next objective. It’s interesting that they’ve made this addition to the game when I remember a fair amount of this game being linear (well, except for those first few hours in the town).

Other additions include a mini-map and the ability to play on the Wii U tablet. Although, these aren’t things that I see as features to be making a deal out of, considering these are features that any game receives when coming to the Wii U.

I’m sure that these additions were made with new players in mind, in order to make it easier on new players whether this is their first time playing a Zelda game or this Zelda game. Personally, I’d have liked them to take a page out of how they treated 2013’s The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and truncate the earlier segments of the game, so that Link leaves the town and the action gets going. Honestly, the amount of time dealing with the long and tedious earlier parts of Twilight Princess, seems like the thing that would drive people away from the game instead of there not being enough linearity.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is set to release March 4 of this year, exclusively for the Wii U for $59.99.
