Finding Dory Trailer

After thirteen years, join Marlin, Nemo, and of course, Dory, as they embark on a new adventure. Set six months after Finding Nemo, Dory, the forgetful fish, finally remembers her past. Determined to return home and find her folks, Dory sets off with Marlin and Nemo. Of course, hilarity ensues and we’re introduced to a new cast of characters including Destiny the whale shark, Hank the octopus, and Bailey the beluga whale.

You gotta hand it to Pixar, I think they are the few companies that can really pull off a sequel almost twenty years after the original film. Speaking of which, WHERE’S MY INCREDIBLES TWO!? But more on that rant later. Anyway, Finding Nemo was one of Pixar’s best films in my opinion, not to mention one that had some of the toughest feels, especially with that opening. Why you play with our emotions, Pixar!!!

So back on topic, I’m pretty confident in Finding Dory, not just because of this trailer, but by the fact Andrew Staton is returning as  writer and director. The trailer felt familiar, and necessary even. Nothing felt forced. The story harkens back to the old, but still feels unique. Even the gags with the fish in the aquarium. If anything, that’s my biggest fear about this movie: that it references back too much to the original, especially with its gags. Hopefully that isn’t the case though.

To sum up, nice tease Pixar. Sure it’s been thirteen years, but you got me invested, for now. Check out Finding Dory June 17, 2016.
