Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Trailer

While not the most inspired choice for a gameplay demo, the demo for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy sure did leave a lot of people guessing. This was the portion I missed, being late to the show, but following the forums, the prevailing question I kept seeing was “Is this the new Tomb Raider?” Personally, I didn’t think it was just because we’d already gotten that this year with Rise of the Tomb Raider, but considering the name of the new Tomb Raider leaked (Shadow of the Tomb Raider, by the way), anything could’ve gone down.

Once the metaphorical smoke cleared, we saw that it was our old “friend” from Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3, Chloe Frazer. And alongside her, Nadine Ross, of Uncharted 4 fame. A pairing that isn’t all too shocking, as Nadine is a gun for hire and Chloe, being a thief, does whatever and steals whatever. Early on in Uncharted 4, there was a note from Chloe that mentioned she was in Sri Lanka, so I guess we’ll get to see just what she did there.

I’m looking forward to this. Chloe was always a character that I wanted to see more of, character-wise. Even though we have newer characters like Nate’s brother, Sam, I think that his story and adventure may come off as a little same-y.

Looking at this trailer closer, I noticed they’re introducing a lock picking to the Uncharted franchise. Naughty Dog tends to do things like this when it comes to their DLC. It’s nice to see that, even once the original game is done, they’re still introducing mechanics to it’s franchises. One can only hope that they do more of this in The Lost Legacy.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to launch for PS4/PS4 Pro sometime in 2017.
